My Favorite 6 Products for a 5 Minute Face
I'm the kind of girl that favors pressing the snooze button over applying a full face of makeup every day. Just give me products that are fast, easy, and stay put and I'll be a happy camper. After searching for years to find the best performing cosmetics to put myself together, I have happily found my 6 holy grails. I'm ready to go in 5 minutes flat.
By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation
The price of this foundation makes me want to cry, but it’s just so darn good! It applies seamlessly and looks invisible, but creates the most flawless looking skin I have ever experienced. This foundation can be applied with fingers or a makeup sponge, either way looks incredible. Blush and highlighter apply even more evenly on top of this product, and somehow the finish manages to give a soft glow without ever becoming greasy. I’ve tried other foundations to see if I can replicate the result more affordably, but nothing holds a candle to the By Terry. No filter needed.
Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil
This brow pencil is my favorite I have ever tried. It applies easily without tugging, blends super easily, and once set, it is waterproof. The spooly on the other end comes in handy with blending, and the angled shape of the pencil makes for a super easy shape builder. It is better than the Chanel I have previously tried, and it has clean ingredients, so you can feel good about what you’re putting on your skin.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact - Rose
This blush is perfection in a compact. It looks so natural, but adds the perfect finish giving the illusion of a soft-focus rosy glow. Buildable and forgiving, I have never been able to “overdo it” with this blush, but can layer for evening easily. I use this as my blush most days, but this can be layered over another blush to add that “just got lucky” flush. Every woman should have this in her makeup bag.
Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot in Martini
This eyeshadow is some kind of magic. It has loose pigments, but it behaves like a cream. It is so heavily pigmented, you hardly need any product to create intense looks, but it can also be blended easily for more subtle effects. It’s super metallic, easy to work with, and lasts the whole day without creasing. It looks just as good applied with a finger as it does with a brush. This is almost always on my eyes because of how versatile it is, and I always get asked what eyeshadow I’m wearing…just like the descriptions says.
Maxi Lash So Volume
I have a really hard time with mascara. No matter what, I either end up with spider lashes or hardly any impact, and they all end up under my eyes within a couple hours. Maxi Lash So Volume solved all of that for me. It adds crazy volume and fullness without looking clumpy and it stays put all day. It is worth every bit of it’s insane price tag. Best. Mascara. Ever.
Dior Lip Glow
This is the ultimate gloss. Typically, self-adjusting lip glosses leave me with hot fuchsia lips that scream middle school, but this one is perfect. My favorite shade is Lilac, which gives the softest glow and non-sticky sheen. It’s a no-mirror-needed daily gloss with enough color to stand alone as your go-to lipstick. I love that it moisturizes as well, so your lips always look amazing.
From behind the chair to now creating hair care products for a color brand, the beauty industry has been my home for over 10 years. Skin care is my first love, hair care is my mistress. My mother bought me Paula Begoun's Beauty Bible when I was a little girl, and it was love at page one. I've written content for dermatologists and have been cited in publications like Byrdie and Town and Country for both makeup and hair. Aside from beauty, I dabble in weightlifting and like learning about nutrition and healthy living. When I'm not working too much or in the gym, you can find me listening to podcasts with my husband or mastering the art of Hygge.
