I have been spinning for years and now that they have a payment plan I FINALLY got a peloton bike at home and LOVE it! the most convenient workout and you can ride in classes from the comfort of your own home OR ride through Paris in the morning OR watch Netflix on your tv. It's been a game changer for me!
Ok, definitely pricey. But, also life changing for actually getting an in-home workout routine together. I split the bike with my fiancé which helps ease the upfront cost and you can have multiple accounts per bike (if you're sharing with roommates). The classes are all filmed live in their NY studio so you still get the quality content and vibes of being in class. I think they're just as hard as Soul Cycle or Flywheel classes and it allows you to work out on your own time. Pro-tip: Turn out the lights in your room and light a candle to simulate studio vibes.
Don't question it if you love SPIN classes. This bike has been everything to me and my family. If you have trouble working out because you don't have time or have kids at home, THIS is for you. It is SO much fun to ride, and all I need is 20 minutes to get super sweaty--and you can do it all when your kid is asleep. I haven't found an at-home workout ANYWHERE close to as awesome as this.
When you can't make that specific class time, leave the house because the kiddos are sleeping, or you only have that tight 30 minutes to squeeze a workout in without a commute, the Peloton is for you. If you're a class junkie like me, you will be so impressed with how you actually feel like you're working out in a classroom setting with a motivating instructor, data metrics and social sharing to keep you accountable, as well as a huge library of content with such variety, there is literally a class for everyone. So sprint to a Peloton boutique today to check out their bikes and treadmills - making working out at home easier than ever before! This is coming from a former SoulCycle employee (me!!) who had my Peloton bike for the weekends when I couldn't leave the house while my babies were napping!
Pre-kids I worked out 6x week but post I was never able to carve that time out for myself. The Peloton fixed that immediately. Even if the baby is only taking a 20 minute nap I can get 15 minutes of needed endorphin-boosting exercise and it has been life changing. The bike is nearly silent, also a plus for exercising while baby naps. The classes on the app are fantastic.
There is something really great about having access to a spin class in your own home. Not that I do not love a good yoga class or HIIT class in a group, but when you are crunched for time or when you just feel like you want to get into a routine, this is a great investment. The bike now includes access to other forms of workouts: stretching, yoga, bootcamps, etc.
Honestly, I use the Peloton bike in the gym in my building and I'm hooked! The settings are easy to manage, and it's even easy to use without the additional bike shoes. The classes allow options for workouts lasting 5 minutes up to 1 hour+ for beginners to advanced which means you're always going to find the perfect workout. Sometimes I'm ready for an hour burn or other days I need a quick 15 minute butt-kicker to start a workout. Even got my boyfriend hooked and we're splitting one for Christmas!
Getting a Peloton has been one of the best investments I have made in myself! I can get up in the morning and get a quick ride in before I start the day! Or I can sneak one in while dinner is cooking. Its perfect. The workouts are varied and theres something for everyone. I love the beyond the ride stretches and yoga routines too! Having this bike in my house gives me no excuse not to sweat! No trips to the gym or lugging around a gym bag! I may or may not have done a couple of rides in my pajamas!! I love it!
As a busy working mama, getting to the gym or a group class can be challenging. We've had our bike for almost 3years and it has been the best investment healthwise. I canceled my gym membership years ago and now when I have small pockets of time, I am able to get in a 15, 20 or 30-minute ride. They just started offering yoga classes which I'm excited to try!
It's a hefty initial investment with an ongoing $40/month subscription, but between my husband and I, we have gotten our investment in the bike back. Considering SoulCycle costs a minimum of $35 per class (not including the time it takes to travel), you can see how a Peloton is a great investment and can get your ROI in taking at least 3 classes per week. If anyone would like a referral code, I can share mine and you can get $100 towards accessories like your shoes!
