Lodge 6 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven

6 quart enameled Dutch Oven from lodge

We received this as a wedding gift and I'm so glad we did. It's the kind of pot that you need to have, and it will last for foreeeever. I'll be handing this over to my grandkids someday. I won't lie. It's big. It's clunky. It weighs about 80 pounds (ok not that much but it sometimes feels like it does). But there is nothing that I would rather have in my kitchen. It cooks stew. Roasts. Sourdough bread from your pandemic sourdough starter. It can do it all. It's super easy to clean and really does last and last. We've used it at least once a week for over a year and it looks the same as the day we got it.

This is one of my most used, versatile pieces of cookware and I am constantly looking for excuses to use it. I’ve tackled braising meats, making stews, baking bread, and much more in the Dutch oven. It’s an amazing value for the price compared to other more expensive brands.

I use this sturdy pot multiple times a week for all sorts of recipes: cooking soups, soaking beans, steaming mussels, frying potatoes, baking bread. It's incredibly versatile and I love how heavy-duty it feels. Plus the enameled finish makes it easy to clean. But best of all, it costs so much less than other similarly built Dutch ovens.
