Insight Timer Meditation App
I have tried other meditation apps and this is the first one that has worked for me. I like the way it's organized. You can select a category you want to focus on and select the amount of time you have to dedicate. I like the variety of choices, voices, and styles. They also offer courses for deeper dives into specific areas. I tried one and got a lot out of it.
I've been meditating for many years but usually in a class setting. This is the first app I have found that I like enough to use outside of a yoga class. The options are abundant. My 13 year old son even listens to it at night to fall asleep. If a 13 year old boy swears by it, you can bet it's worth the download.
I’ve done Transcendental Meditation (TM) for four years and I do it every morning. On a good day, I’ll do it twice, and on a red carpet day, I will always make time for an afternoon session. A session lasts 20 minutes but the app will chime to bring you out of the mediation and keep track of your daily progress. Today, I got an alert that I completed 100 consecutive days, and it felt amazing. I love TM because it’s forgiving and accepts that your mind will wander, and when I emerge I feel so much more centered. I swear by it before the red carpet because it puts me in a frame of mind where I’m like, okay, I can do this.
