See What Centered Superstylist Cristina Ehrlich Swears By

It’s red carpet season, and that means that celebrity superstylist Cristina Ehrlich is in overdrive. She dresses some of Hollywood’s most impressive, high-wattage talents like Laura Dern, Greta Gerwig, Alison Brie, Allison Williams, Uzo Aduba to name(drop) a few. With offices in New York and LA and a squad of seven impossibly chic stylists on her team, Cristina’s signature approach goes beyond figuring out how to make a floor-length gown look effortless. “We don’t just drop off a dress and some shoes and say ‘good luck’! It’s an intimate service that we provide, really thinking about the message that our women are trying to convey through their style choices. Red carpet dressing is going through such a transition right now where we’re creating an opportunity to open a dialogue. The fashion needs to compliment the voice.”  And, let’s remember that these superstars are all going to the same event. On the same day. At the same time. While we get hives just thinking about it, Cristina makes it look easy, with her signature can-do outlook and wry humor. “I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and I’m having so much fun, it’s a joke. And anyway, complaining is for babies.” We were delighted when Cristina agreed to tell us the things that she really truly swears by, no payment or endorsement fee—just the honest-to-goodness best stuff on the market. 1. Garrett Leight Glasses

“This brand has every style of glasses and sunglasses, from classic to ’70s retro. I had Laura Dern in them the entire awards season because each pair is incredible. They don’t pay me to say it—I just love them so much. The frames sit lightly on your nose so you never get those annoying marks or pressure headaches. Whenever I wear this brand, people stop me and ask me where I got them. Just ideal.”

2. Practice You by Elena Brower

“Today’s pace of life is a million miles an hour. Mine is no different, and whenever people ask me how I manage to keep it together, I tell them about Elena Brower and Practice You. She is my guru, my life coach, and a yoga teacher who’s put together the most amazing journal to elevate and inspire. The journal helps perfect who you already are, rather than trying to change who you are or how you see the world. Anytime I’m confused or feeling lost, I turn to this practice and I feel more connected.  Not everyone can afford to spend the time and money on a therapist, but this journal is a total life-changer.”

3. Dr. Lancer

“I’ve been seeing Dr. Lancer for the last six years, and I thank him and his products for keeping me from injections and f*ing up my face. First, he stresses hydration. Drink that water! Everyone says it, but we just don’t listen. Now that I’ve turned 50, I get it. I will actually feel sad if I don’t get to apply my favorite three products every morning. I start with The Method: Polish, which is a gorgeous, finely granulated scrub, and then use the Advanced C Radiance Cream. But my favorite is the sunscreen because it’s so light and fluid, unlike most SPF products. Also, the products don’t have a weird, artificial perfume smell. If I were stranded on a desert island with those three and a Chapstick, I’d be okay. Skincare is very personal, of course, but everyone I’ve turned onto Dr. Lancer loves it.”

4. Antolina Paris Shoes

“My clients and I are obsessed with these shoes. They’re like an upscale version of the espadrille, but she also has made beautiful wedges and heels. They’re a little pricey, but so worth it because of their versatility and craftsmanship. The company uses traditional weaving and braiding techniques that help provide jobs for women in Paraguay. It’s so easy to get behind a company with a great mission. It’s a win-win.”

5. doTERRA Oils

“Oh my God, I’m turning into a hippie, I swear. When my clients come in for a fitting, I ask them to pick an oil as a way to find a little bit of grounding in the crazy hectic day. It’s amazing how a little drop of lavender can have a calming and soothing effect—sometimes, better than a glass of wine! I have 3-4 oils in my bag at all times, and I’ll make a survival kit for my clients during awards season and doTERRA oils are always in it.  I’m obsessed.”

6. Paravel Weekender Bag

“I’m always on the go and need to be organized. My dear friend and client Allison Williams turned me on to Paravel’s little pouches that were a godsend for keeping all the little essentials in my bag organized. And the bags! They come in the best color combinations and are durable at a good price point. They have the best shoulder straps ever that prevent you from breaking your back.”
