Beauty Must-Haves by a Fashionista: Consignment Brooklyn’s Eva Dayton

Whom do we have to thank for $18 salads in Brooklyn? Our sources say, at least partially, Eva Dayton. Stylist and tastemaker Eva was at the forefront of the revival of Atlantic Avenue (and Brooklyn in general), with her aptly named shop, Consignment Brooklyn. She’s the cerebral fashionista who brings high-quality and elegant consignment to Brooklyn, with an expertly curated assortment that includes boldface brands like Marni, Rick Owens, Prada, et al. Refinery 29 described her  shop as “an of-the-moment boutique,” chock-full of covetable, curated goods at far more attainable prices than regular retail. Eva’s aethetic is purposeful, minimal, and resoundingly stylish, so we had to know what she swears by. And you know what? This discerning fashion addict is equally obsessed with beauty.

We popped into her Brooklyn boutique to talk beauty Swears and found her honest, #unsponsored recommendations to be just as clever and trend-forward as she is.

1. Joanna Vargas Serum

“This serum is the best one I’ve found for anti-aging. I apply it every morning and night. It’s not too heavy and it’s great year-round, providing protection from sun exposure during the summer and wind during harsh winters. The creator herself calls it ‘green juice for your skin’.”

2. Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss

“I love Bobbi Brown products (especially their Smokey Eye Mascara, which never smudges) because they last forever. Their lip gloss, in particular, is a must-buy. It has just the right amount of color and shimmer to make you look put together, but not too done up. I wear it everywhere, from taking my kids to school to going to fashion events at night.”

3. LINNÉ Refresh Face Mist

“After I shower, I’ll put this toner on my face and neck to refresh my skin and close my pores. Toner is a must after you’ve washed your face because it gently cleanses, moisturizes, and balances the pH level of your skin.”

4. Tenoverten Nail Polish

“I only ever need two nail polish shades: a light one and a dark one. Both of these colors (Love Elixir and Maiden) from tenoverten are beautiful, and it’s the longest-lasting, glossiest nail polish I’ve ever tried.”

Better Than Chanel?

5. Davids Natural Toothpaste

“I always try to use natural, organic products, but it’s important that they do what they’re supposed to do, too. This toothpaste is great at whitening and doesn’t have a weird aftertaste, all while being natural and fluoride-free.”
